We know heading off to college is a big change, and big changes bring different emotions. You may be feeling excitement, nerves or a mix of both! Our Warriors were in your shoes not too long ago, so we asked them:
“What advice do you wish you could go back and tell your high school senior self?”

"It’s ok not to know what you want to do, and it’s ok to feel nervous. You are going to be supported regardless and there are tons of people who are on your side and will help you reach your goals. My academic advisors and professors are always willing to drop everything and make an appointment with me if I need any kind of help."

"Make friends from the start of college! Everyone is new and everyone is in the same boat as you so don’t hesitate to talk to new people! The community at Merrimack made it so easy to get involved and you have people around you that support you whether that be your friends or the staff members that are making it happen."

"Come to Merrimack open minded and open hearted! I know how hard it can be to transition from high school to college and be nervous about your big first day. One thing I noticed after being on campus every day during my first week was how welcoming and accepting Merrimack is."

"It’s okay to not be perfect. You will make mistakes, but they don’t define you. Everyone has a hard time first coming to college, so give it time and put yourself out there to make campus your home. The sense of community at Merrimack is special, you are always passing by someone you know and saying hello."

"This is a really tough time in life, choosing the next step. But you got this. You will choose the right place for you. You know you best, and whatever you decide for yourself will be a good choice no matter what."
